Think of all the reasons possible to have a home based business opportunity. It basically boils down to having a winning combination – more free time, more money, and more time with family. If you are new to the industry and not sure where to get started, likely you will come across thousands of businesses to do online, probably involving network marketing. You are looking for your home based business opportunity to be a win-win situation for both the distributor (you) and the company. It certainly beats the alternatives, win-lose, lose-win, or lose-lose. Too often with the numerous scams that one finds on the Internet the situation is lose-lose.
One of the issues in having a home based business is how someone’s greed factor is affected by it. Many people unfortunately have the attitude, what’s in it for me. Now, I am not suggesting you should not make money or be successful. However, if you want ultimate success in your home based business, then you need to look at the big picture. If you are in a home business where you need to get more people in your organization, how do you make it worthwhile for them?
What special feature about the home based business opportunity you are in would make someone else want to join? We really do not know, what a win-win situation would be for them. We can make an assumption and guess at what a person would want. We could assume that making money is one of their main objective. However, it could be something very different. It could be that is a person desire to help people and make a difference in the world. For each person the objectives are somewhat different. The only way to know for sure is to to ask them. The best advice during this phase of the process is to listen to what they are saying, but more importantly how they are coming across. In other words, do they sound interested, upbeat, motivated seem to have a real desire to be part of a team. One can usually assume that if someone wants, well, whatever they are looking for badly enough, they will get it. But once in a while circumstances don’t let it play out that way.
A way to help put the odds in your favor is to understand what a winning combination would be for most people. You need to honestly assess whether or not your opportunity would create that. It does not do any good to just bring someone on so that you can say you have someone in you downline if they do not really want to work the business. Trust me, it happens all the time. You bring someone in, they go at it for 30 or 60 days, then go into some sort of MLM witness protection program. On the other hand, if you believe your home based business opportunity would be a good match for the person, go ahead and explain why you feel this business would be good for them. And it is important that whatever you are talking be truthful, as they will find out the truth about the company – and whether or not they would be satisfied with their role in the company – soon enough anyway.
Then and only then will you really know if you have someone who would be a long-term member in your group. To achieve your win-win goal, you must make it totally clear to them, both in your words and in your actions, that you support their right to explore all the different options. Your new home based business relationship will be launched in an atmosphere of mutual respect and commitment, with the positive expectation that it will continue indefinitely. You and your prospect will each get what you want, and you will both feel terrific about your decisions. That is the real key to having a successful home based business opportunity. A clear, concise and mutual business plan to help each other win. Something that I have found that has a winning combination is It’s Good Business.
